Do all brownies jump out of the pan, or just mine?

Welcome to Duffy Kelly’s Blog

There are plenty of things about my life that no matter how I slice them, they are not funny.  Not, not, not  in the slightest.  Like why is it that just when I fall asleep for the one daytime nap that I take all decade, the brownies decide to jump out of the pan and throw themselves all over my kitchen floor?

Mind you that was after I had used up all the rest of my life’s energy on suctioning my children off the television screen so that I could then ask them in the nicest voice possible, “C L E A N   UP    Y O U R   @#$#$@   M E S S!”

I was so tired of trying to get them to help me, that I had to just plop down on my bed and start dreaming of a cabana boy with a penchant for cleaning.  But when I awakened…Holy Cats, there was no cabana boy. Instead, little bits of brownies were flattened like gum on my nice hardwood floors,  (They used to be nice, anyway.)

So that’s what happened yesterday.  I guess I will just have to make cookies instead.

No not all brownies jump off the pan like that, just yours and mine. only with me it isn’t brownies, it is pancakes. My mother started a tradition last year during our La Salva vacation. She was making pancakes for the bunch of us. She went to flip one and somehow it jumped from the pan to the kid behind her. He grandson. He thought it so funny that “grandma threw a pancake at me”, he threw one back at her and grabbed another from the stack to throw at grandpa. What insued was beyond my wildest dreams…they started a pancake fight! Yup, right there in the living room…one hit me smack dam in the face. So I had to join the fight. By the time we were done, there were pancakes all over the place and no a dry eye in the pack. I don’t think that I can recall a funnier time in my 37.5 years of this family. They continued this tradition this year and the fight goes on with my (grown)nephew strumming up ideas for next years attck! So yes, Duffy, things do just jump off pans :)
